Van and Lydia invited the Howards and us up for an old-fashion 4th of July. Jen used to spend every 4th of July up there with her grandparents so she was very excited! We started out at Van and Lydia's for some lunch and swimming at their house and then headed down for an afternoon at the lake. Thomas and Callie both participated in the potato and fork race and the foot race for kids 5 and under. Van and Seth reached the third to final round of the egg tossing contest, and Jen took first place in the pie eating contest. After a long fun day in the sun and water followed by a yummy BBQ at the lake we got home in time to watch the fireworks from our living room.
